Now, I think we all understand the power Marvin Gaye music has. Especially since it is Valentine’s season and love is already in the air everywhere. But would you ever think that monkeys would also enjoy his tunes?

We live in a very bizarre world…. but I honestly feel this was more of a promotions gimmick than anything else. A zoo in the UK has recently hired a Marvin Gaye impersonator to serenade their monkeys to help them get in the mood.

The Trentham Monkey Forest in England hired David Lagie to sing to their monkeys during their mating season in an effort to spice things up. They even had him singing inside the animal enclosures!

Park Director Matt Lovatt said “We thought it could be a creative way to encourage our females to show a little affection to males that might not have been so lucky in love.”

So, I guess we’ll find out if the monkey’s really liked the Marvin Gaye music sometime this summer, when all the baby monkeys start to show up. They are hoping for a recording breaking amount of babies in the summer.
