Today, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame opened a new exhibit “1984”. The new exhibit is a celebration of what the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame calls a “landmark year in music.”
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees included in the exhibit include: Prince, Madonna, Tina Turner, Van Halen, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Bruce Springsteen, and Chaka Khan.
Featured “artifacts” that can be seen when visiting the exhibit include:
- Jacket worn by Michael Jackson in the “Thriller” video (1983)
- Jacket worn by Lionel Richie at the closing ceremony for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles
- Outfit worn by Chaka Khan in the music video for “I Feel For You”
- Exact replica of Eddie Van Halen’s “Frankenstein” guitar
- Duran Duran black satin “Arena” album era tour jacket
