On this day January 21st two different songs hit #1, “Owner of a Lonely Heart” by Yes in 1984 and “Two Hearts” by Phil Colins in 1989. Now both songs only stayed at the #1 spot for a little over a week both losing the spot on February 3rd of their year. But which song would you say is better?
“Owner of a Lonely Heart” is Yes’s one and only #1 hitting single and would be the most recognizable song of theirs. While “Two Hearts” obviously isn’t Phil Colins’ only #1 hit or his most recognizable song but it did win a Golden Globe and a Grammy.
Me, personally, I would pick “Owner of a Lonely Heart” over “Two Hearts”. If I’m gonna listen to Phil Collins its gonna be a different song.
