People like chocolate and candy, I think that’s a fact. It brings joy and warm feelings to mostly everyone. And with the whirlwind of a year that 2021 was it makes complete sense that people would be buying more candies to give their days a little bright spot. And candy sales are through the roof so far this year and we haven’t even hit major holidays yet!
Overall chocolate sales were up 9% and non chocolate sales were up about 15%!
Even gum and mint sales were up almost 4%
And a lot of these jumps in sales didn’t even have connections to holidays like Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.
So I think it’s safe to say that the majority of America leans into candy during stressful times.
