Arcade Fire share title track to upcoming ‘Pink Elephant’ LP

Arcade Fire performs at Heineken Primavera Sound 2014 Festival (PS14) on May 29^ 2014 in Barcelona^ Spain.

Arcade Fire have released the title track from their forthcoming seventh studio album Pink Elephant, the follow-up to their 2022 album WE.  The Canadian indie rock veterans are set to drop the new album on May 9, and previously-shared the lead single “Year Of The Snake”.

The upcoming Pink Elephant album was recorded at the band’s Good News Recording Studio in New Orleans, and will feature ten tracks (running approximately 42 minutes). The album “promises a blend of cinematic mystical punk,” according to the band.

Frontman Win Butler shares that the track Pink Elephant felt like a foundational track for the album: “Sometimes you find a song that feels like it contains the whole universe,” he said. “Even if the other songs haven’t arrived yet, you know they’re on their way. It’s like discovering the only well in a desert—you know others will gather there.”

Arcade Fire will serve as musical guest on Saturday Night Live on May 10, with Walton Goggins set to host. Earlier this year, the band joined David Byrne and St. Vincent to perform David Bowie’s “Heroes” as part of SNL’s 50th anniversary tribute.
